Factors affecting tourism in Santa Cruz - Bolivia

Resumen

El presente artículo de investigación tiene como propósito analizar los factores que han afectado al desarrollo del turismo en los últimos años. A partir del año 2019, y bajo una perspectiva política, económica y ecológica, Bolivia ha atravesado diferentes dificultades que no han permitido que el turismo pueda seguir creciendo. Bolivia experimentó diversos cambios en el sector turístico que dio inicio con los incendios forestales en la Chiquitania, el paro indefinido que duró veintiún días y la pandemia mundial ocasionada por el COVID-19, lo que provocó pérdidas económicas. Sin embargo, se espera una mejoría para el año 2022 y así poder alcanzar los resultados prepandemia en el año 2024, todo esto gracias a las condiciones turísticas con las que cuenta Bolivia y que se adaptan a los nuevos requerimientos por parte de los turistas, tanto nacionales como internacionales. 

Abstract
The purpose of this research article is to analyze the factors that have affected the development of tourism in recent years. As of 2019, and from a political, economic and ecological perspective, Bolivia has gone through different difficulties that have not allowed tourism to continue growing. Bolivia experienced various changes in the tourism sector that began with the forest fires in Chiquitania, the indefinite strike that lasted twenty-one days and the global pandemic caused by COVID-19, which caused economic losses. However, an improvement is expected for the year 2022 and thus be able to achieve the prepandemic results in the year 2024, all this thanks to the tourist conditions that Bolivia has and that adapt to the new requirements of tourists, both national and international.
